PhotoChain Challenge 67th Edition - Things Go Better With . . .

in Feel Good4 years ago

Hello one and all. Welcome to the 67th edition of this fun challenge initiated by the good @davidesimoncini. Read all about this here. You are all invited to join and have a good time.

For this week the 2 keywords to use from last week's winner are:

LOGO by @trincowski

and

FINGERS by @zoricatech

Hmmm. Tonight we had a really sumptuous dinner of mussels cooked in coconut milk and crispy fried "dilis" in our vernacular. It's a Filipino delicacy consisting of dried anchovies, usually deep-fried, and served hot. And after the meal we all agreed that a bottle of Coke would be perfect to cap the meal. As my daughter was about to open the bottle, I suddenly remembered the PhotoChain Challenge and asked her to pause for a while and took some photos for my entry. Talk about two birds with one stone. A perfect drink to cap a perfect meal and a perfect entry for the contest.

Who doesn't recognize one of the most famous soft drink logo in the world, if not the most famous one? Who created the Coca-Cola logo?

According to Google, the author of the original script logo and the name of the drink was a certain Frank Mason Robinson who was the bookkeeper of the Coca-Cola inventor, John Pemberton. He also played a great part in creating and developing the brand. The Coca-Cola logo was based on Spencerian font, which was the most widely used form of formal handwriting back then. In 1886 Frank came up with the first logo – the handwritten name of the company. The handwriting has proven to be an everlasting element, having survived numerous logo modifications unchanged except for the color.
