haha! er... hmmm.... take a modern key, put it onto a vintage paper (or vice versa) = voyla! = we are there. this challenge is a bit about random and a bit about creativity!
but, generally speaking, I agree with you -- vintage does not fit well to a half. 'half heart' (Melinda's keyword) looks more promising...
