Photochain Challenge: 126th Edition / CHIMNEY and DOG

in Feel Good2 years ago (edited)

The two keywords for this week's Photochain Challenge #126 come to you by way of last week's winners, @thebigsweed's word being CHIMMNEY, and @adinapoli's word being DOG.

Dogs, there are plenty of man's best friend here on the farm, especially when the kids come to visit.
They come in all shapes and sizes, but the dog you see being photographed here is a very fortunate dog, a rescued dog that was going to be put down. Her name is Ruby. She was adopted by a very special young lady who became a full fledged veterinarian this past summer after eight years of schooling.

Ruby came to her clinic after being hit by a car. The owner didn't want to pay for the operation that would save her life. Ruby needed to have a leg amputated and the cost of the operation was in the thousands. That is when Leah stepped up big time, paying for the life saving procedure, at a reduced cost, and then adopting Ruby.

You would think that having three legs would have slowed her down, no way.

This is the big hearted Leah with her beloved Ruby.

Ruby passed away this past October and will be sorely missed.

My Key-Subject is BEER, and this one is for the Veterinarian, Leah, and Ruby.

Dog + Chimney + Beer = my edition to this week's Photochain Challenge.

The pleasure is mine.
Thanks for the gifts!

Dog wars in the forest looked like a lot of fun!

These animals get to witness our lives and it doesn't matter how many legs they have!

It sure didn't slow Ruby down until the last month or so.
Since Ruby's death, Leah has taken two more rescue dogs and now has a total of four dogs. I love dogs, but caring for that many dogs would be too much at this point.

I hear you my man. The only reason we only have 2 and not a dozen is that I am allergic to them and they don't wanna kill me quite that fast.

Making for piles of resistance for any trip away from home.

I'm such a softie for dogs. I probably shouldn't admit it but I like them more than people.

They're so resilient.

Unlike people, they are loyal, they have no agenda, no religious or political view, and don't talk behind your back. What's not to like.
I know that you have wanted a dog for a while now, but with all of your travels it would be impossible. I would imagine that once you have seen every corner of this planet and settle in one place, getting a dog will go to the top of your list.

Sorry to hear of Ruby’s passing. She had a great life after Leah adopted her. That’s all that a can be asked although our pets leave a big hole in our hearts when they pass. Love the photo of the dogs running.
