A few days ago, I watched an episode of “UnSKripted” on Sportskeeda and it made me think of how WWE is currently doing. The veteran wrestling expert Vince Russo has a lot to say about the present WWE stars. He isolated Liv Morgan as well as Indi Hartwell, not being professional enough in spite of their trainings.
Yet, this criticism by Russo was too severe that I began to contemplate what professionalism means when it comes to wrestling. However, he believes that today’s roster does not match up with what previous generations had gone through. While some wrestlers of today may have been trained in the sport, they do not carry themselves like professionals. All this matters a lot for someone with many years in the business as Russo.
I have always been a fan of Liv Morgan for whom I’ve always had a soft spot. She has a unique style and she is very energetic in the ring. However I kind of get what Russo is saying. Sometimes it seems like the new stars lack the poise or aura that was common with our historical superstars. This does not only entail their in-ring skills but also how they carry themselves outside the ring.
At the same time, Indi Hartwell has shown promise, but perhaps there is a gap between potential and actual performance. From Russo’s remarks it would seem that becoming a WWE superstar requires much more than pulling off flashy moves in the ring. It encompasses all of these elements – character traits, workplace conduct and ability to engage fans.
Whilst this may be hard to hear for fans like me who love Liv and Indi, what Russo said matters. Wrestling industry changes all the time and sometimes criticism can help its stars grow better. In case Liv Morgan and Indi Hartwell take this feedback as an opportunity as well as challenge then they might be back stronger than ever before and prove Russo wrong someday.
