Byliśmy w Shimli, byliśmy w Kalpie. Jesteśmy już więc niesamowicie zachwyceni Himalajami, a przygoda trwa dalej.
Jedziemy do Chitkul - ostatniej wioski w Indiach.
We were in Shimla, we were in Kalpa. So we are already incredibly delighted with the Himalayas, and the adventure continues.
We're going to Chitkul - the last village in India.
Chitkul - ostatnia wioska w Indiach / Chitkul - the last village of India
Chitkul jest ostatnią wioską, bo dalej już tylko Tybet (vel Chiny). Oczywiście do samej granicy jest jeszcze sporo kilometrów wędrówki przez ośnieżone szczyty. Z naciskiem na słowo WĘDRÓWKI, bo drogi już tamtędy nie wiodą.
Chitkul is the last village, only Tibet (aka China) is further way. Of course, to the very border there are still many kilometers of hiking through the snow-capped peaks. With an emphasis on the word HIKING, because the roads don't lead that way.
Słońce grzało tak mocno, że zwiedzanie Chitkul rozpoczęliśmy od popędzenia w dół, do rzeki. Woda jak na Himalaje przystało była mroźna, ale słoneczko tak zachęcające, że niestrudzeni podróżnicy zdjęli buty i pomoczyli zmęczone stopy w cudnej rzeczce.
The sun was so hot that we started our tour of Chitkul by rushing down to the river. As befits the Himalayas, the water was frosty, but the sun was so inviting that the tireless travelers took off their shoes and helped their tired feet in a wonderful river.
Tu poniżej widok z poziomu rzeki w górę, na wioskę. Zerkaliśmy z zainteresowaniem, ale woda trzymała nas mocno.
Below, there is a view from the river level up to the village. We peeked with interest, but the water held us tight.
Pożegnaliśmy się z rzeką, kiedy słońce schowało się za górą. Momentalnie zrobiło się przeraźliwie zimno! Pozostało szybko wytrzeć stopy i popędzić w górę, do wioski, gdzie wciąż docierały ostatnie promienie słońca.
We said goodbye to the river when the sun hid behind the mountain. Immediately it got bitterly cold! What was left to do was wipe your feet quickly and hurry up to the village, where the last rays of the sun still lingered.
A wioska oczywiście zdumiewająca, zachwycająca. Nie wiedziałam gdzie patrzeć i w którą stronę kierować obiektyw.
And, of course, the village is amazing, delightful. I didn't know where to look and which way to point the lens.
Mieszkańcy Chitkul przyjęli nas z pobłażliwą uprzejmością i delikatnym brakiem zainteresowania. Zagadani, zatrzymali się i zamienili parę słów, z daleka przesyłali nieśmiałe pozdrowienia. Nie przerywali sobie jednak swojego normalnego, powolnego życia w tej pięknej wiosce.
The people of Chitkul welcomed us with indulgent politeness and a slight disinterest. When asked, they stopped and exchanged a few words, sended shy greetings from a distance. However, they kept on their normal, slow-paced life in this beautiful village, like nothing happened.

Modernity has come to Chitkul - there are solar panels!
