I kind of wonder what this community will be like in a few months when the dust settles and I can finally get things the way I want them to be. I wonder if anyone will show up and if anyone will care.
However until that time I'm still making little changes behind the scenes so that it will be fully functioning when the time arrives. If you are curious then read on about what I'm doing to make sure that the community has funds coming in to support users.
Now I have lots of ideas. The end goal though is to bring in new users, train them to get the most value from the system, help them figure out ways to invest both on and off the hive blockchain and meld on chain and off chain investments so that they can be more financially secure. All while having fun watching dragons grow (which will be like giant battling piggy banks).
That's still a long way off.
Today though I added another 820 Hive to the Great Little Dragon accounts. 1000 Hive was added to this community account @hive-192111 which will be used to purchase $EDSI coin for a sweet 18% weekly HIVE payout. The goal? Earn enough weekly to invest a little and pay out a little for pretty much as long as anyone is interested in the community.
But...
Where the money is coming from is important also.
Investing onchain and off
If you have been watching you will know that I am bringing in CRO coin from the Crypto.com network. Today's money came from :
Recycling a bunch of old soda cans
Interest from a high interest savings account
Income payments from a number of different REIT investments.
And why mention that? Because I'll be using Hive income to buy real world investments and real world investments to buy Hive.
Many people on Hive just try to think of the best ways to get money onchain. The problem with that is the more money you get on the chain and the more you withdraw the bigger a leach on the overall Hive system. Now I'm all for making sure you get the biggest piece of the Hive pie you can by working hard, making good posts, and finding good investments while supporting the communities you enjoy. I'm also very much a proponent of making sure you bring in money from external sources to keep Hive liquid.
It is my dream that Hive coin goes up and up and it becomes widely accepted but until that day? The real world money is what keeps the coin going and I'm going to make sure to regularly support it. If that's from Crypto.com investments then fine. Reits or Stocks from WealthSimple? Fine. Preferred Shares from Scotiabank? Yup, those work too. Bank interest from EqBank? Sure, that fits. Even the little extra money from returning aluminum cans for their deposit value.
I want to look at every type of investment I can. I want to look at every little way to scrounge a little extra value to bring into investments. In the end to present it to everyone as a little blueprint on how to find money to invest, how to get income from those investments and finally how to spend it for the maximum benefit.
...... But I'm not there yet...More groundwork to lay
However, when I report taxes I'm required to tell the government where money was invested and I figure members of the community may want to know so to be transparent here is a little snapshot of what's going on.

Today's purchases
$239.52 Hive was purchased today.
$44.05 was from bank account interest. @bankaccount.gld will be an account coming up to track how to get the most interest from your everyday banking.
$97 was from collecting recycleables. @funmoney.gld will be an upcoming account on little ways to get extra income to invest from unusual sources...like actually collecting recycleables and cleaning up trash.
$74.07 was from scanning my purchases and sending them in to Neilsen and taking a survey every now and then from swagbucks. Another thing to add to @funmoney.gld
$14.55 came from investing in REIT's and STOCKS. @investment.gld will be an account all about investing for growth and income.
Just for fun.
Today's investing money came almost exclusively from REIT's. If you don't know REIT is a real estate investment trust. Kind of like owning a rental property without all the headaches. The nice thing about REIT's is that they pay every month. I purchased 10 REITS:
AP.un
BTB.un
NXR.un
FCD.un
PRV.un
APR.un
AX.un
PLZ.un
NWH.un
SRU.un
I'll talk more about reits when I have an @investment.gld account but for right now know that I'm not giving investment advice or even saying that those are good to buy. Only saying that I'm using them to provide regular income for the community I also purchased 10 stocks:
BTE
FN
WCP
RCI.B
CVE
BEPC
TA
BAM
SCR
TVE
But while those stocks pay dividends. Typically stocks only pay out quarterly (every 90 days) so today only the FN stock paid any dividend.
Again. Not saying to buy any of those stocks. However, I think watching 20 different tickers all paying money into the Great Little Dragons account...will give me something to talk about and some steady income for me to invest on the Hive infrastructure. Hopefully to get some regular coin to distribute to the community once its up and running.
So, if you made it this far? Thanks for dropping by. Just one more step towards getting things running a little way down the road.
Later everyone.
