The world is naturally filled with ambiguity and deception. This is exactly why the place of honesty cannot be overemphasized in the sociological order of the human person.

The song Honest by Bazzi is a rhythm that reminds clearly how it pays for people to be generally honest to each other. In this context he used honesty to explain how it hurts not to be honest, how it hurts to be betrayed, the aftermath or after reaction of someone who has been hurt by lack of honesty.
In person who he used to depict this story line, he said clearly that he understands how ruthless this person can be but never thought it could be to a certain extent - that's to say that no one can predict the reaction of a person when they find out that all they have been protecting for such a time has been met with dishonesty.

My wild guess is that "He did something to her, something that he wasn't completely honest about. And for the sake of revenge, this person decided to take on his best friend as revenge". Sometimes it's not for any reason other than the fact that you want the person who hurt you to feel the same Level of hurt as well.
There is also a key note in this song; the fact that he acknowledged that he was wrong and accepted that he wasn't being honest. He accepted that he was selfish in the ways that he acted. Sometimes all you need to fix a problem is ti first of all accept that you were wrong, then you will have the space to think of how to fix your wrong actions.
But the point I specifically would want to explore extensively is the concept of sex. In different cultures and traditions in the world, sex is seen differently. But in the context of a relationship, sex is basically what couples do in regards to exploring pleasure in their relationship. It is supposed to be an intimacy that is personal to the couple and them alone. But some other time, the pleasure obtained from sex often makes people think that they are compatible in a relationship when in fact they are not.
Sex shouldn't be the yardstick to judge a great relationship rather honesty should be. This is exactly a very big lesson that is out loud about this song.
When you are in a relationship, even when the sex is good, ask yourself if you and your partner are being truthfully honest to each other. Because when you are honest to each other, every other thing would follow in; they will tell you everything, the good, the bad and even the ugly. And both of you will always enjoy good moments and also fight together in bad moments.
I play this song every time to remind myself about the great qualities that I can convey in my day to day relationship with people by just being honest.
Also note that honesty helps to build an everlasting trust in people, and trust is one thing that will speak for you when almost every other thing wouldn't.

Coming to the write up, honesty is key to survival in any form of relationship. Honesty is the building block of 'trust' and personally I see it as one of the fundamental characters one must possess if we're to get along.
