One of the world's real stories I always tend to run away from discussing about is, abusive relationships. Whatever I'll say, anyone in the situation would say I'm not in it so I'll say it the way I did. It's really crazy the high rate of couples who are living in abusive relationships and smiling on the outside to hide their broken heart.
I remember my time in school, I lived next to a neighbor who would let her boyfriend hit her as he wanted, they will break up and get back together again only get beaten up over and over. I couldn't believe my eyes whenever I see them back together, especially after the first time I saw the guy hit her hard like she was a punching bag.

Abusive relationships are rampant, even though many do not come out on it as a lot of them think it won't be a situation that will last long which most of them realize they are very wrong about it. I've understood that a lot of these abusive relationships were birthed from wrong parenting and it's like a cycle that goes down to generation.
A married couple with kids fighting and being abusive to each other in the presence of their kids, trying to prove to them that conflicts can only be sorted out through shouts and blows. I've heard so many stories and witnessed a few to be aware that wrong choices had led many to relationships that harm them physically, verbally or mentally with very limited way of escape.
I've been listening to this song for about three weeks now and it's only until today I figured out what the artist meant with his lyrics in the song. Imagine a song describing an absiove partner as the devil himself, it's a wild description but the artist understood well enough how dark and scary a relationship can be with such a partner.
I'm not so sure but the artist, "Alec Benjamin" seemed to have seen or experienced what it's like to be in an abusive relationship and the song is directed to those who think they can change the abuser for a happier relationship. In his song, he said "He will only do you more harm" said it to the one who may act like he or she would change.
The song advises that you should not wait for an abuser to ever change if you've tried all you possibly can and they keep apologising only to go back to who they really are. It's a hard one for those in the actual situation but there's no sweeter way to say it that nobody deserves to be in a relationship that abuses their whole being.

Abusive relationships, are common this days, and most ladies stay because they lower their standard to be with guy thinking there is no good guy out there and I pity some when they talk about their stories in relationships.
But if there is one thing certain about me, I will never lay a hands on woman because my dad never did to my mom till date same with every other families, I only hear of this from friends.
Personally i feel the mistake people do in abusive relationships is that they tend to stay think he will thinking change, but once an abuser always an abuser, except he or she makes personal decision not to act that way again it still be cautious there can change at anytime

You cannot change an abuser; he will only do you more harm than you can imagine. That incident is just similar to a colleague during my NCE program, whose boyfriend would always punch like a bag; they would break up, only for the girl to come beg me to help beg the guy. Both of them didn't end up marrying each other oo. Abusive relationship can be the worst kind of experience for someone.
She is lucky they didn't end up getting married because it would have continued and in such case, death won't be far from her.
We can never change an abuser, because it's already in there blood. I just don't understand why someone people instead of living there abusive relationship they keep staying, saying they will endure because they love them and believe they will change. Who told them they will change? After maybe four years of abusive relationship, you think you can change him? I can't pray for any of my loved one's or me myself to be in an abusive relationship because like what an adage says: An Idle man is a devil's work manship, so I don't believe an abuser can ever change.
My dear, it's really bothersome and some will say you won't understand since you're not the one in it. I guess I never will understand because God won't let me find myself in such.
You know I thought this song was about the devil. More like a song telling you to flee from him, who would've thought it was about abuse.
I'm still trying to understand why people would still sit well in an abusive relationship and do nothing when they're being maltreated.
Thanks for throwing more light on the song
Yeah, it was my exact thought too until I researched about the song and learnt something deeper.
