Throughout our political life, we have seen posters, graffiti, advertisements and television spots with something similar to this, only that instead of the word imagination there was the surname of the current candidate. The message was let's choose "so and so", to call him somehow, who will make us achieve everything we yearn for: freedom, happiness, financial independence, better justice and everything that occurred to us, the catchphrase left free to the imagination of he read it whatever interpretation he wanted. Although I am probably not a psychologist and with phrases like the previous one you want to channel the human imagination for the benefit of the politician.
Imagination is fundamental in people's lives and of course, it is related to many important aspects of human knowledge, Kant says that it is the common root between sensitivity and understanding.
I have noticed that there are times when my imagination is very active and I can write, think, deduce and even play with words and ideas, at other times, on the contrary, it costs me horrors to string together good ideas or have the necessary spontaneity to achieve results in the activities that I like the most.
Sometimes it seems that the eager opposition to having ideas outright beats the ability and intuition of productivity, then and with luck the image appears and everything becomes easier, on the contrary, if that sharpness of thought is hidden between the folds of our brain, we are finished, the darkness will dominate our understanding and it only remains to wait until the spark appears again.
And how can we help our imagination?
Well, surely there are different ways. Reading gives me results, with a good book everything becomes easier and my imagination feeds and trains. Many years ago, when I was in my beginnings in the computer science career, I read a book whose title was "Wings for the Mind", it was about teaching a programming language developed specifically for children, to instill in them the basic ideas of the logic necessary to programming and a computer-oriented way of thinking. It was not bad of course, but it was intended for an audience to which I did not belong, however the title, otherwise suggestive, remained etched in my mind for life.
Imagination is within each one of us, we all have it, we just have to develop our wings to fly over it and that way we will have a greater chance of succeeding, of being better people, of helping others and even having fun.
A lo largo de nuestra vida política hemos visto carteles, pintadas, publicidades y spots televisivos con algo parecido a esto, solo que en lugar de la palabra imaginación estaba el apellido del candidato de turno. El mensaje era elijamos a “fulano”, por llamarlo de alguna manera, que hará que consigamos todo lo que anhelamos: libertad, felicidad, independencia económica, mejor justicia y todo aquello que se nos ocurriera, la muletilla dejaba librado a la imaginación del que lo leía la interpretación que se le antojara. Aunque no soy psicólogo probablemente y con frases como la anterior se quiera encausar la imaginación humana en beneficio del político.
La imaginación es algo fundamental en la vida de las personas y por supuesto está relacionada con muchos e importantes aspectos del conocimiento humano, Kant dice que es la raíz común entre la sensibilidad y el entendimiento.
He notado que hay momentos en que mi imaginación está muy activa y puedo escribir, pensar, deducir y hasta jugar con las palabras y las ideas, en otros por momentos por el contrario me cuesta horrores hilvanar buenas ideas o tener la espontaneidad necesaria como para lograr resultados en las actividades que más me gustan.
En ocasiones parece que la afanosa oposición a tener ideas le gana rotundamente a la capacidad e intuición de la productividad, entonces y con suerte aparece la imaginación y todo se torna más sencillo, por el contrario si esa agudeza del pensamiento se esconde entre los pliegues de nuestro cerebro, estamos acabados, la oscuridad dominará nuestro entendimiento y solo queda esperar hasta que la chispa aparezca nuevamente.
¿Y como podemos ayudar a nuestra imaginación?
Bien, hay diversas maneras seguramente. A mí me da resultados la lectura, con un buen libro todo se vuelve más sencillo y mi imaginación se alimenta y entrena. Hace muchísimos años, cuando estaba en mis comienzos en la carrera informática leí un libro cuyo título era “Alas para la mente”, trataba sobre la enseñanza de un lenguaje de programación desarrollado específicamente para niños, para inculcarles las ideas básicas de la lógica necesaria para programar y una forma de pensar orientada a la informática. No era malo por supuesto, pero estaba destinado a un público al que yo no pertenecía, sin embargo el título, por demás sugerente, quedó grabado en mi mente para toda la vida.
La imaginación está dentro de cada uno, todos la tenemos, solo hay que desarrollar las alas para volar sobre ella y de esa manera tendremos mayores posibilidades de triunfar, de ser mejores personas, de ayudar a otros y hasta de divertirnos.
