I'm curious, what did they do with the money? Returned them? Confiscated them?
Well, Bitcoin fixes this problem for the passenger, but probably it'll stay the same if not worse for authorities working against smuggling...

I don't know exactly mate, but usually I thinks these go to an evidence locker of some sort,
