I am thinking that no matter how strong the privacy guarantees an email provider has, they have the technical ability to read emails sent to your email address from third-party email providers in unencrypted form for a split-second before encrypting them on their servers.

What if it is ProtonMail-to-ProtonMail emails?
Emails from ProtonMail email address to another ProtonMail email address are automatically end-to-end encrypted, where no data leaves the sender's and recipient's devices unencrypted, as already stated in my
