You run/ran a sports community + token through Steem/Hive Engine. Are you saying that this is not a viable option for any/all communities, even a general one that simply copied the current system over to layer two?

You obviously thought that there was a possible solution with it but you now dislike that others agree with your previous assumption?

I don't have an issue with second layer tokens. My issue is with dissolving the rewards pool for future users to grow meaningful account resources to interact with second layer tokens.

What are “meaningful account resources” and why can’t they be grown via second-layer use and rewards?

I was referring to Hive Power for the necessary resource credits to support user's posting to earn the second layer rewards. I've reached out to countless people offering free accounts for Hive with little success onboarding users into STS. I can't imagine asking people to do it while asking them to put in money too.

It would be no different than needing RCs on the base layer. If you need X amount of RCs to transact in the current setup, then you would still need X amount on layer two. There’s no addional money that would be needed from a new user.

But on layer two, community/site owners can more easily handle account creation and delegation for their own users. If you want to run a site/community and create a token, then you ought to be able to handle the onboarding, otherwise you end up with the same kind of bottlenecks and stagnation.

I don't share this same opinion. If I'm a new user under the current system I have roughly enough RC for a new post every other day if I remember correctly without HP. I make a new post and get upvotes on it earning HBD, HP, SPORTS and LEO. After a week I'll now have enough HP to make posts every day and potentially more.

Under a new system with no rewards I would only earn SPORTS and LEO after the first week. This means I'm still limited in the amount of interactions I can make on chain so I can't grow nearly as fast. This would also mean that I would need to sell my SPORTS and LEO tokens just to get the necessary HP to power up. This creates additional understanding for a new user to actually be able to use the ecosystem since they'll now need to figure out how to use a market to offload community tokens for a token that powers their account actions.

Not only will it create more education for new users but it's going to be even harder for them to obtain HP. Since SPORTS and LEO have a downward price pressure from users selling to buy more HP they won't be able to get nearly as much Hive for these community tokens as they can now. Not only that but Hive will become more expensive since it's inflation would likely be lowered creating a more scare resource from the start.

How is it any easier for me to manage account creations or delegations in that second scenario than it is under the current one?
