By the way, there is one more question that I am curious about the answer to. Do I need to SPT Power to benefit from Splinterlands Airdrup with these SPTs?

Airdrop distributes SPS, not SPT.
It is not necessary to have SPT or SPS. Tokens are distributed for DEC.
But the SPTs in your account also affect the airdrop status. 😀
