Under the Tree

in DBuzzlast month

A huge tree is cut, maybe because it can destroy the electric wires above during the typhoon. What a disheartening news it is that in the future, there will be no trees if we don’t plant from these days. Who will suffer? Maybe not us but our future generation. This is a tree when we went to the mountain. We had a lot of memories with this mango tree when we used to ride in Carabao and reap its fruits. Beside it was the planted nuts that we used to harvest. I was eight years old those days, so my mother was always worried about me during the daytime because I was gone at home ‘till the nightfall.

We just went to the farm where this tree grew and relaxed under its shade while we shared our funny stories, laughed and played together. Under it was a shady green grasses where we lied down without matts. We didn’t care since we were already immune with the hives. We used to bring dried fish that we put in a plastic lunch box, water and a steamed corn. I can clearly imagine of our purest joy while we laid under it and viewing its abundant green fruits that were pure organic, no chemicals and fertilizers put. The tree and the fruits just grew by themselves naturally. The people were just surprised that there was a little mango tree growing in the farm, ‘till it grew taller and gave us the plenty of fruits to reap. We would climb it together while listening of our peer below telling us that the fruits we took weren't even made half the basket.
