It only goes up when you get upvotes, (and goes down when you get downvotes.)
If you keep posting every day and interacting with people, you'll eventually get it to 60 soon, but it gets harder to raise it the higher it is. It might take you years to reach 70 if you're not active.

Yup! The curve is exponential!!
From 50 to 60 is easy... From 60 to 65 is harder. From 65 to 70~ takes A LOT of time and effort.
#FunFact: I don't remember ever interacting with a person who reached 80+ here.

It's valuable, but not really that valuable in my opinion. Most people don't care about your rep but your actual content.

I write stories in "Scholar and Scribe" community, but that's for fiction. It might not be the best. Another fiction community is "TheInkWell," but they have strict rules so I'm not part of it yet.
I don't post in it but Gems is a good general content place...

Yup, try to have your best quality but it's okay to make mistakes.
Even if you didn't get noticed at first, when you're finally noticed, people will go back to your older posts and feel the urge to reward them if you're good enough in their opinion.

On HIVE there are Tokens we call "engagement tokens, like !PIZZA and !LUV
It's hard to explain them to newbies.

Of course, I post a lot in D.Buzz community, (it's my most used one,) and if your goal is to gain connections it's one of the best because many people are active here.

For reputation there's no quick way to raise it, unless you get upvoted by whales (accounts with really high Hive Power) but you'll need to earn the friendship of such a person, or write good content until you're discovered for that to happen.

There are ones in (almost) all communities. At least all the ones I've mentioned to you. You just have to be yourself, (your best self,) and hope they notice you. They have their own lives too, y'know?
