That's like a Proof-of-Brain, but those with "brain" are not incentivized to share their knowledge because they will get no rewards.

I agree with you against this rewards update.

Sounds like the mining with the stake. Whaleshares and Golos.Id installed the same. Value of the coin deteriorated and they lost a lot of users, development is affected too, but they also lost a lot of spam and abusers. On a scale we should look what is the best long-term solution. System is very complicated for me to even know where to start thinking about it.

Agreed on what happened with the other chains but I don't think the abusers left. They just didn't have to work to sneak in their abuse anymore since they were able to just get tokens without seeking consensus. Those kinds of users then don't have to work for the token and are much more inclined to sell off the tokens versus using it to increase their influence on rewards. This leads to a price decline for the token value since users have no reason to buy to increase their influence and the sellers just push price lower.

I seen someone else leave a comment that explains it well. If witnesses really support that concept then they should have no issue with removing witness rewards from the chain. If they need to be rewarded for their efforts then we'll just issue a second layer token and reward them with it. If they expect non-chain level tokens to be good enough for users then it should be good enough for them as well I would assume.

This is stupid . . Can you list the people saying that so that I can also remove my votes for them?

I'm just sitting down to listen but I see @theycallmedan has made a new video about this topic as well. I'll edit with impressions after watching.

Okay.. I will watch that too.

I have to admit, deciding on for or against something like this is probably above my pay grade.

Deciding what's best for #DBuzz is easy enough for me, especially since I consult with other people.

Deciding what's best for #HIVE is MUCH harder!

IMO it makes sense to roll out SMTs before thinking about removing the reward pool @therealwolf @ats-david 👍

I agree that we would need that solution/option available before removing the HIVE/HBD content rewards. I don’t think I’ve said otherwise.

@ats-david (presumably @ats-witness) - https://peakd.com/hive/@ats-david/a-vision-for-hive

I presume there are others but I've not seen public statements from them though will be watching for it.

The post by @ats-david was well written, and at 1st I scoffed at the idea since our #GamePlan on @dbuzz is based on #HIVE having a reward pool

But if push comes to shove, and @therealwolf + others lead to the removal of the reward pool, we will make our own reward pool 👍

How will new d.buzz users power their accounts? Are we to expect that users will begin paying stakeholders to buy their resource credits just to interact? I don't expect that ends well for the second layer community's growth.

That is a good question.

If they removed rewards from #HIVE, which will likely happen when the inflation rate is 1%, if not earlier . .

The burden of resource credits might fall on each individual front-end somehow?

I'm reading the comments of the post right now @patrickulrich.
