Most people are in curation trials or delegate their HP to one of the curators. So, that leaves little HP to vote for manual curation by individuals. Voters upvote those who make connections with them. So find a place that welcomes you on Hive.

I delegated most of my HP to @ocdb and @ecency for their curation teams, so my vote is as little as $0.001 most of the time.

But I'm also pay @dustsweeper to help with upvotes. #dustsweeper will make sure people who get my upvote reach at least $0.02 in rewards per comment/post.

The number one thing when starting out is keep at it and realize it takes time. Don't get discourage. Likely the best way to really start is to just engage with others and comment on things they write. That's how you grow followers and ultimately earn more Hive/HBD.
