Landscape in the sun - oil on canvas

Hello all dear Hivers friends and welcome back to my blog. Today I am sharing a landscape done not in watercolor but in oil on canvas. In the painting I have depicted in the foreground a field of red lettuce (radicchio) that takes on purplish pink colors in the sun.

In the background a few white clouds and some quickly painted trees in shadow that serve to move the viewpoint away from the sky.

I used a very wide-weave canvas as can be seen from the detail, to leave the painting with a textural sense.

Also against the light some dark patches of vegetation to increase the brightness of the day.

Paesaggio al sole - olio su tela

Ciao a tutti cari amici Hivers e bentornati sul mio blog. Oggi condivido un paesaggio realizzato non ad acquarello ma ad olio su tela. Nel quadro ho rappresentato in primo piano un campo di lattuga rossa (radicchio) che al sole prende i colori del rosa violaceo. Sullo sfondo poche nuvole bianche e alcuni alberi dipinti velocemente in ombra che servono per allontare il punto di vista del cielo. Ho usato una tela a trama molto larga come si evince dal dettaglio, per lasciare al quadro un senso materico. Sempre in controluce alcune macchie scure di vegetazione per aumentare la luminosità della giornata. Spero che il mio quadro vi piaccia e vi mando un abbraccio lucente.

You're very good too with oils. I firstly tought of a field of lavender, but the radicchio is also nice to have this beautiful color contrast 😄
But i'm not sure that it smells as good 😋
