I had to listen as I didn't know what this included. I can hear the first song is 'Drown with Me', so.. older stuff.

Some of the stuff labels do for RSD is just re-issuing with fancy new packaging and colored vinyl sometimes. Other times it's stuff that has been previously unreleased.

Keep them coming, I might not always comment but I do listen.

Thank you!

I've not really got involved with Record Store Day. There is a shortage of those shops around here, but there is one near work that is a favourite of Steven Wilson from Porcupine Tree. I seem to be buying a bit less music lately, but then I have quite a collection. I will consider vinyl for some special editions, but digital music is so convenient and I am running out of shelf space.

I totally get what you are saying. I have started to back off from purchasing as much as I was. I sit and look at my collection and I think why am I spending all this money. I prefer to buy used albums that I can get for a couple bucks versus some of the new releases that cost $30 or more. As long as it sounds good, I don't really care the condition or where it was pressed. Some folks get really into it though.

You can never go wrong with some Grateful Dead.

Over the past five years or so there has been a sudden resurgence in the popularity of vinyl records. Personally, I have been collecting them for decades, but I am more than a little happy to see them back in the limelight.

Ya it's the same here in Ireland. It's never something I got into, I went from tapes to CDs to Torrent downloads to Spotify. I never had a record player..

So you're a Counting Crows fan, eh.... Great band in fairness, I used to listen to these guys a lot, especially August and Everything After and This Desert Life albums..

I'd say my two favorite albums are August and Hard Candy. I've seen them live three times. They are pretty amazing. I hear they are getting ready to tour again. I have their last two albums on vinyl.

Yes Hard Candy is another quality album now that you mention it, I will be driving for approx. 1 hour later and that is what I am going to listen to now... Cheers..

Enjoy!

I dont know too much about the dead nor their music, but I had heard about their bootleg scene, and letting people take them from the desk which is pretty cool ! A 3 hr youtube link - lol !
I really like the Porcupine Tree track. Never heard of them before, but the chord structure sounds not unlike something Rush would do (who I love) ! I'll need to check them out some more - thanks !

You should for sure. Like I said, they have a catalog that spans decades. If you really want some good suggestions reach out to the two folks I mentioned above. The Dead are awesome. I like that sort of thing though. I saw Phish twice many years ago.

If I had stayed in the US, I undoubtably would have a huge record collection by now. There was kind of a purging as I came here and I think overall that was for the best. Now with kids and bills I can't really afford to get into collecting hobbies, and that also is probably for the best.

Still love record stores though.

Love the last track. I've never heard of Porcupine Tree before. Will have to search out more.

My wife can't stand that musty smell that most record stores have. She doesn't keep me from visiting them though! I was on a dangerous pace for a while there with my purchases and I have since slowed down. It has to be something really amazing or a really good price for me to buy it these days.
