El lunes pasado tuve la oportunidad de visitar el Museo de Bellas Artes de Caracas, aún estando cerrado. Además tuve que esperar en el jardín que bajaran a buscarme de las oficinas, luego de nuestra reunión y del proceso de investigación, hurgando en el catálogo de la colección buscando y seleccionando a las mujeres artistas que participarán en una próxima exhibición.
Entre una y otra reunión me paseaba por el jardín delantero del museo y aprovechaba de tomar fotografías a estas esculturas aquí expuestas, obras emblemáticas del museo que me han acompañado en cada visita, pero que esta vez pude apreciar en profundidad, porque al estar cerrado al público ningún intruso sabotearía ninguna toma.
En el Museo hace mucho frío, así que estas escapadas al jardín también aprovechaba para calentarme un poco bajo los rayos del sol.
Last Monday I had the opportunity to visit the Museo de Bellas Artes de Caracas, even though it was closed. I also had to wait in the garden for them to come down to pick me up from the offices, after our meeting and the research process, rummaging through the catalog of the collection looking for and selecting the women artists who will participate in an upcoming exhibition.
In between meetings I strolled through the front garden of the museum and took the opportunity to take photographs of the sculptures on display here, emblematic works of the museum that have accompanied me on every visit, but which this time I was able to appreciate in depth, because being closed to the public no intruder would sabotage any shot.
It is very cold in the Museum, so these escapades to the garden I also took the opportunity to warm up a little under the sun's rays.

Estas obras vaciadas en bronce y el coqueto sauce que acompañan la pileta del museo, han estado allí desde que tengo memoria, algunas fueron trasladadas a la nueva sede de la Galería de Arte Nacional. El Museo de Bellas Artes está dividido en dos edificios, el Edificio Neoclásico, que esta hermosura de lugar y en donde se encontraba la Galería de Arte Nacional de manera provisional. Y el edificio contemporáneo que siempre estuvo destinado al Museo de Bellas Artes, pero sobre todo, al arte moderno.
Al mudarse la Galería a su nueva sede, el museo pudo, por fin, disponer de todo el espacio, una ventaja, así también evitamos la antigua confusión de no saber donde estamos parados, para los distraídos que no diferenciaban los estilos arquitectónicos del lugar.
These bronze casts and the flirtatious willow tree accompanying the museum's pool have been there for as long as I can remember, some of which were moved to the new headquarters of the National Art Gallery. The Museum of Fine Arts is divided into two buildings, the Neoclassical Building, which is a beautiful place and where the National Art Gallery was temporarily located. And the contemporary building that was always destined to the Museum of Fine Arts, but above all, to modern art.
When the Gallery moved to its new location, the museum could finally have all the space, an advantage, so we also avoid the old confusion of not knowing where we are standing, for the distracted who did not differentiate the architectural styles of the place.

Estas esculturas son parte de la iconografía caraqueña, han estado en la memoria de quienes habitamos esta ciudad, se me hace difícil decir durante cuánto tiempo, pero podemos notar la pátina verde del óxido.
En estas salas he visto obras que cambiaron mi vida, la primera vez que apareció la mantilla de Armando Reverón expuesta, las lágrimas no paraban de salir de mi rostro, el primer artista realmente venezolano, que abandonó la escuela que lo había formado, el impresionismo de Francia, y se adentró en las profundidades del Caribe a construir un rancho para crear el impresionismo venezolano.
Lloraba porque me representaba, también me estaba inventando a mi.
These sculptures are part of the iconography of Caracas, they have been in the memory of those who live in this city, it is difficult to say for how long, but we can notice the green patina of rust.

Esta fue la primera visita al museo un día en el que estuvo cerrado al público, estaban limpiando y vaciando una de las salas para montar otra exposición. Estuve en las oficinas de registro de obras y estuve a punto de entrar a la bóveda, espero lograr ese encuentro en mi próxima visita, la verdad me hace mucha ilusión conocer todos los rincones de este hermoso museo.
This was the first visit to the museum on a day when it was closed to the public, they were cleaning and emptying one of the rooms to set up another exhibition. I was in the offices of registration of works and I was about to enter the vault, I hope to achieve that encounter on my next visit, the truth makes me very excited to know every corner of this beautiful museum.
Lo más emocionante de este museo está inscrito en su configuración, como saben todos los museos poseen su propia colección de obras, ya sea que las compraran o sean donadas por el artista o la familia del artista. El fin último del museo establece la categoría de las obras que este museo se dedica a coleccionas, resguardar y mantener.

El Museo de Bellas Artes tiene como función albergar una colección del arte contemporáneo, de artistas nacionales e internacionales, por lo que actualmente en sus salas podemos apreciar obras del icónico Meyer Vaisman, que aunque es venezolano, realiza su obra y vive en Israel.
A diferencia de la Galería de Arte Nacional, con la que compartió espacios por muchos años, que se dedica, como lo dice su nombre, a preservar el arte venezolano.

The Museo de Bellas Artes has as its function to house a collection of contemporary art by national and international artists, so that currently in its rooms we can appreciate works by the iconic Meyer Vaisman, who although he is Venezuelan, makes his work and lives in Israel.

No recuerdo haber visitado éste museo cuando viví en Caracas pero si recuerdo haber oído de él sin dudas. Me encanta ese espacio lleno de arte y también la arquitectura que se puede ver en tus fotos, las columnas de estilo dórico (creo) y las esculturas. Lugares como éste enriquecen la ciudad, definitivamente 😍
