The Best of Discovery-it #323
Hi there, welcome back to The Best of Discovery-it! All the best posts voted by the Discovery-it curator team will have their own dedicated space within the Hive blockchain. This digest intends to bring to light all those authors who often remain unnoticed and therefore reward all those who create quality posts, leading them to establish themselves on the platform. But that's not all!
After a careful selection, our curators will also choose the most deserving articles among all those voted to create a ranking of the Top posts of the day.
So who are today's winners?
Wildlife Oasis of Castel Ivano, Trentino Alto Adige
by @alequandro
If you like naturalistic photos, then this post by alequandro is for you. He was driving home from a hike and out of the corner of his eye he noticed a group of deer. The sun was setting and the deer were in the shade. “It was a protected oasis and I had never seen deer because they were in the woods” the author said. This post is amazing reportage about the beauty of nature.
by @silver.art
Today’s artwork by silver.art represents an old woman. “I tried to imagine this old woman without using photos. Her life is passing on and every each wrinkle marks those days that will never come back. Her grandchildren have quit this place and probably will not turn back here in this vast yard. I used crayons and charcoal. Tried to make the light behind the old woman. This is not only a portrait of a woman, to me this is a story about one life” the artist said.

Today marianomariano talks to us about Amanita muscaria, one of the most famous mushrooms which can be found in the temperate zone, mainly in Central Europe. The author gives us a very detailed description of the botanic species, for example about the dots, gills, leg and hat. Amanita muscaria has also hallucinogenic properties because of the presence of ibotenic acid, which is poisonous in high concentrations, but in small amounts has intoxicating, narcotic and hallucinogenic properties.
