TOBOGANES DE COCHAMO

Today we will travel to these natural slides of the Cochamo River, in the valley of Las Juntas, Chile. To get there it takes 13km of hiking in the mountain, passing through very wet and muddy areas almost all year round, covered by thick vegetation and some uncovered areas with beautiful views, crossing some rivers, the valley is one of the most famous spots in South America for climbers, it is known as the Yosemite of Chile, for its large white granite walls and the huge amount of places to climb and practice adventure sports.

You can also find activities for the less adventurous, such as these natural slides, in which both climbers and tourists join to take a dip in the wonderful waters of the Cochamo river that slides down the granite and ends up forming a large natural pool, they are located very close to the valley where all the campsites, but you must cross a river that can sometimes be deep and strongly current depending on the time of year you visit.

Undoubtedly Cochamo was one of the places that most amazed us during our trip to Chile, is one of those places that we most want to know, pure nature almost intact and with many activities to do in the mountains, we were in the valley 3 days, just on January 1, 2020 we were there, starting the year with great adventures, I will upload more pictures of this place that is incredible, not only for its nature but also for the mix of cultures and the diversity of people that can be found there, from foreigners from all over the world who come to climb its walls, to families from all over Chile who come attracted by the history and natural beauty of the place.
