A few months ago I shared in the @gudnius.comics account a drawing related to a personal project I'm working on, which I show again below. It's about a Robot prototype that I want to build in my spare time and at that moment I wanted to capture in an picture the idea I had in mind.
Hace unos meses compartí en la cuenta @gudnius.comics un dibujo relacionado a un proyecto personal en el que estoy trabajando, el cual muestro nuevamente a continuación. Se trata de un prototipo de Robot que quiero construir en mi tiempo libre y en aquel entonces quise plasmar en una imagen la idea que tenía en mente.
Yes, this design is a bit cartoonish. Even though the end result in real life could look the same or quite similar, it would still be a totally acceptable look for a robot. But actually I don't think it will look exactly like the image in the end because I have intentionally drawn it as a caricature (including its proportions), as I also want this creation to be a character, something like a mascot for my business, therefore its animated "avatar".
Sí, este diseño es algo caricaturesco. Aunque el resultado final en la vida real podría verse igual o bastante parecido, aun así sería una apariencia totalmente aceptable para un robot. Pero en realidad no creo que al final se vea exactamente como en la imagen porque lo he dibujado intencionalmente como una caricatura (incluyendo sus proporciones), pues también deseo que esta creación sea un personaje, algo así como una mascota para mi negocio, por lo tanto su “avatar” animado.
The story behind this idea goes back a few years ago when I was snooping around in the storage room of an automotive electronics workshop where I worked for a while, and I saw a piece that caught my attention and imagination. It was a plastic structure from a motorcycle and was love at first sight hahaha, I could immediately visualize the head of a robot there. That part was there because it had been discarded and one day I asked if they were going to do something with it and they told me I could take it.
La historia de esta idea se remonta unos cuantos años atrás cuando estaba curioseando en el almacén de un taller de electrónica automotriz en el cual trabajé un tiempo, y vi una pieza que captó mi atención e imaginación. Era una estructura de plástico proveniente de una moto y fue amor a primera vista jajaja, en seguida pude visualizar la cabeza de un robot ahí. Era una parte que estaba ahí porque había sido desechada y un día pregunté si iban a hacer algo con eso y me dijeron que me la podía quedar.
For years I had it at home and although there were attempts to start building my robot, I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted it to look like or the determination to commit to it. Now in addition to having an image to rely on, I have the motivation to build it as a tool to attract customers for my business. Here is a glimpse of the progress I have made, comparing the concept of the cartoon character with its real-life counterpart:
Por años la tuve en casa y aunque hubo intentos de comenzar a construir mi robot, no tenía una visión clara de cómo quería que luciera ni la determinación para comprometerme con ello. Ahora no solo tengo una imagen en la cual basarme sino también la motivación de construirlo como herramienta para atraer clientes para mi negocio.
