Sonja, if one agonizes over every brushstroke like I often do, that's not "freakin' good" (thanks anayway 😀) but the insecurity of an amateur. It will take time and practice to loosen up and go from jittery lines to confident strokes. As to the "creative" original paintings w/o reference, I do one here and there, just to try.
Too much abstraction, however, you will likely never see from me. It's just not my thing. A little impressionism perhaps, for good measure. All for the enjoyment of the process.
