Sometimes, the best way to move forward is to pause. I recently took a trip to Amatlán de Quetzalcóatl, a mystical town near Tepoztlán, Mexico, where I immersed myself in a retreat focused on deep healing and self-discovery. It was a time of stillness, renewal, and reconnection with my inner self—something we all need every now and then.

The Power of the Temazcal: A Ritual of Purification

One of the most profound experiences was the temazcal, an ancient Mexican sweat lodge ceremony designed to cleanse the body, mind, and spirit. The temazcal represents the womb of Mother Earth, and stepping inside symbolizes rebirth. As the steam and heat rise from volcanic stones, the body begins to release toxins, stress, and negative energy. But beyond the physical benefits—detoxification, improved circulation, and clearer skin—the true magic of the temazcal lies in its spiritual power. It teaches surrender, resilience, and the ability to let go.

Massages, Meditation & Yoga: A Ritual of Self-Care

Every morning, I started my day with yoga and meditation, allowing my body to move freely and my mind to quiet down. Yoga not only increases flexibility and strength but also promotes emotional balance. Meditation, on the other hand, is a gateway to stillness, helping us detach from constant mental noise and cultivate presence.
