After being out commision for a week due to my back having issues, I am playing catch up on my routine.
Come to learn that helping my grandfather unclog a kitchen sink with a plunger was probably not the best thing for my lumbar degeneration. I was not in good shape to the extent that I was using a cane to get around. It sure feels weird doing that in my late 30s but it is what it is.
Anyways, I'm back and churned out 5.73 miles. During this course, I ran a total of a half mile backwards but not all at once. Turns out that backwards running is much more challenging than I thought.
In addition to this, I made it a point to get back into the habit of picking up some trash again.
I wasn't about to let the fence stop me from obtaining this loose trash bag. Conveniently, I was able to use it to hold the trash I had collected thus far. Bonus Raising Cane's drink cup found later.
Here is a panoramic photo of Converse North park with it's lake shimmering in the distance.
Now, what do we have here? Looks like it is time to...
PARKOUR!
I reckon that just about sums it up. Oh I almost forget. Despite my brief hiatus, my VO2 max appears to be improving albeit slightly. Slight progress is better than no progress I would say but I still have a way to go!
Thanks for stopping by ✌️

Nice run, and especially nice trash bag snag. When I would go recyclable hunting, I would look forward to finding a bag along the way. Almost always happen.
Muh Fukus is dirty af n shit.
You may be going through some stumbling blocks of life but you're still looking good!
Yeah I thought I was over it but this week through me off as well with spring break and the kids being home. I did get some activity in on a walking treadmill and a bike ride in gusty wind (that was NOT fun) so not a total loss
