Yes. It's a Rhododendron. A bit of an unusual colour as you say. We were actually on a Magnolia walk but, sadly, we were a bit early and only a couple of trees were in full bloom. The gardens were still pretty though.

It was a lovely photo! Just about everyone here has at least one rhody and one azalea in there yard. The Magnolia trees are fewer, but there are a lot of them around if you know where to look. If you go back to the gardens, please take photos of them. Take care and enjoy!
