We have a weekend away planned. Dropped my wife at the station - she will catch a train from the city and I will meet her down the line. Took my time doing some accounting and getting ready
Left home around 1:30. Traffic was easy and crossed the city in an hour. A little slower after that in the rain. Stopped for petrol and then headed to the coast
Looking north to Port Kembla
Big rain is over the mountains of the Southern Highlands
Growing in the dunes
Down south to Warilla Beach
Looking south
Pig face - vygies
Storm still over the mountain
Looking south over Bass Point Reserve
Interesting black beach - not many of those in Australia - guessing basalt but there are coal seams open to the sea here
Did the shopping to make sure we have food for a few days in case we get flooded in. Then to Kiama to wait for the train
Quiet beer in Kiama Inn waiting for train - can see the trains pulling in from the bar. TV background - presentation ceremony for Cameron Smith, Aussie winner of The Open golf at St Andrews. Ripper.
Got to the house around 7:30 - had to drive a round about way as the direct road is closed
Late dinner - pork ribs cooked sous vide from my birthday celebration a month ago. Heated up in bbq with some bbq sauce bought in the July 4 sales
