A late night again. A cloudy morning again. My wife headed off to the office - last day in her current role. We are going away tomorrow for a few days. Need to do some shopping. Chose to combine that with an orchid search on the far side of Ku-ring Gai Chase NP - driving then shopping
Walked two tracks. First one is to a large rock plateau with heaps of Aboriginal history. The orchids grow in the sedge - this one a seeded midge orchid
A bit further in the process - maybe two weeks and seeds are already despatched.
This tree is also living on the sedge. Am guessing the roots go down through a crack. Zoom in you will a few green spiky leaves - guessing these are the greenhoods known to grow here
Did find a midge orchid still open - fringed midge orchid
Photo work was hard as light was a bit low - leaf behind to improve focus - corunastylis fimbriatus
A few different types of banksia - the leaves are the key to ID
Even took a picture of the leaves of this one specifically
Still a few conesticks around - it is also a banksia
Drove down to a different track to see if the parsons bands orchids are flowering. No luck at all - not even a leaf. A late flowering fringe lily deep in the undergrowth
Leptospermum squarrosum
Narrow-leaved hemigenia
Pine-leaf geebung
I do like to compose a photo of these against the track. These seem to be flowering later than on the tracks my side of the park
Did find one midge orchid in the grassy sections alongside the track - tough photo work in low light
Someone lost their flower on the track - a g-string - dumped that in the first bin I would find along with some other rubbish. Nice walk under threatening skies and I did find orchids
Got the shopping done. Struggled through the afternoon trying to get some outcomes working on IM stuff.
My wife was home late. Her CEO admitted there had been a big mistake made but he had to love by the choices made.
Dinner: Cottage pie made with bolognese sauce my wife made two days back.
Trade action: Bought ACL.AX. Credit spreads on ADYEN.AS, UBSG.SW. Trading high implied volatility for a living

Thanks Joan. You might have been preying on me today. I took heaps of landscape photos and squeaked in a rose when I got to camp. Post tomorroe
Enjoy the drive and look forward to seeing the captures along the way.
