Had grand ideas of going for a bike ride. Got stuck into doing some stuff at home. Wrote up the weekly investing post. Did some yard work. Got lazy and drove down the hill for an orchid walk

Greenhood rosette - hard to ID but in a known spot for sharp grenhood. Looks like nodding greenhood to me
It is mushroom season

Chiloglottis orchid closing up - probably seminuda - turtle orchid
Brown form mushroom - the heart shape leaf is an orchid
Spider. The web was vertical attached to something high above my head making it easy to walk around

Always a leech - this one did not find a victim

Did find a bunch of chiloglottis orchids - becomes an ID challenge - maybe chiloglottis diphylla - calli down the labellum
Front on - calli coming down the centre of the labellum
This one looks different - calli do not come down as far - maybe sylvestris
Leaf will help with ID

This is a lot easier - sylvestris

One closing up - calli do not come down labellum and there is not a rosette of calli like sylvestris - probably seminuda
Gets harder - sort of like diphylla but not convinced

Turned into a great orchid walk - 2 types plus possible 3/4 chiloglottis orchids. Next time I will walk up one side and back down the same way. Sure I missed a lot trying to see both sides
Got home to find my wife had cooked dinner - Thai yellow chicken curry. Yum

What an amazing finds! Orchids and mushrooms 😍 It is my dream to find wild orchids, but while I know a lot about those I grow myself I probably wouldn’t know it’s a wild orchid even if I was looking at it 🙈😅
