First small helmet orchid for 2023 : June 26 2023

in Actifit10 months ago (edited)

Good news is I did sleep and got back to sleep each time our guest got up. That was a few times tested. He enjoyed sitting in the sunroom enjoying the quiet of the suburbs. He made his own smoothie breakfast - I did fruit for me. Dropped him off at station and then headed to bush and shops.

Bush first - NSW coral heath flower

Snow wreath - woolsia pungens

Great light for banksia photos

Hairy hakea

Boronia ledifolia

The mission was helmet orchids seen budding two weeks ago in a rainforest segment

Saw this small pop of burgundy - bingo - target found

Found a few. This is special find for me. I had an idea about environment. I saw tne buds two weeks ago and now the reward - small helmet orchid

A few plants to get angles - corybas unguiculatas

As helmet orchids go, it is hard to get to see orchid shapes

Labellum showing

Last time the sharp greenhoods were below this banksia. No new flowers today- could see the rosettes

Walked across the rocks on the way back. Sundews shaping up

Pea flower and seed pod forming

Excited to find a new orchid spot - two finds here in two weeks is special.

Did the shopping after.

Dinner: Pizza. That was special too as it was first dairy meal in over a week.

Cannot say I am 100% but it is progress.
