Boxers are known not to be very good swimmers, mainly because of how they are built, the front part of their body is larger and much heavier than their back so when they swim they have to do it in an almost upright position to keep the balance, but I'd say Max is a good enough swimmer, especially since he took no swimming classes, nobody taught him that.
