That's why we hike with high power LED flashlights that are like headlights on a car. Just going up to the trailhead takes us across a known cougar trail. There is strength in numbers. Even Mike and I won't go just the two of us; we need 3 or more to go there at night.

That sounds nice and fun, I would love to experience such hike I can tell it will be fun.
At least if the cougar comes, we are a happy bunch; however, we wouldn't go down without a fight, that's for sure! Hopefully, it never comes to that. They say cougars generally will leave you alone unless they are hurt, sick, or seriously hungry. Take care!
