Grind up the charcoal and mix it with some water and make a paste then form a ball and allow it to dry.
Flattening ball out a bit helps to allow the center to dry.
Poking a hole in the center while it's wet does allow the center to dry quicker...
Play around with it but you can make your own charcoal and it has value.
