RE: My Actifit Report Card: Sunny Monday and a roof full of panels

Okay.

I'll bite.

I saw the place with 55 solar panels on top of it. Why does that mean they don't care about a green community?

Now....
.... I'm kind of curious what kind of system they have that needs so many panels and I'm curious just how large a battery pack they have to hold the energy from so many panels.

Honestly I would probably do the same thing if I was in Nigeria.

But I do care about the environment so I'm wondering why they aren't the green option?

Sort:

Although the solar energy is a form of enabling green environment, what I implied with the statement is their intention wasn't for green community.

They selected the cheapest form of generating electricity. The building is a commercial building with different shops. Each shop owns its solar system with a 1KVA system around $535 compared to petrol or diesel generator that can go for $200 and above. Then you factor in daily petrol or diesel cost that can amount to $120 monthly.

They selected the best for them and with installmental option, it all makes sense.
