Right in the heart of the ever busy street of Las Ramblas lies Palau Guell! Much like La Pedrera along the commercial streets of Passeig de Gracia, this is a building you'll mostly appreciate on the inside.
Here in this residence, Gaudi was commissioned by the same family who he designed Parc Guell for - it's not as colorful from the outside and I think the main theme for this one is wrought iron - where the architect outdoes himself again by creating various shapes, flowers, and even the entryway avian by the main gate!
Complete with yet another interior 'driveway' to let carriages pass and even a well-ventilated basement stable for the horses, though before reaching this pictured rooftop, my only complaint was that I feel some of the areas were not too well lit - as if the burst of color was just waiting to drop on one's head upon reaching the highest point of the building. Take note that the rooftop is not a flat surface, it can close when there's rain as the inclined slops can (and are somewhat slippery), so am definitely grateful for the sun and yet another rather warm day for this afternoon adventure! 😃
