Greetings after a day of walking around the city of Valencia for their Fallas Festival!
I've read these gigantic and creative statues evolved from the old wood or furniture the carpenters back in the day used to burn in the city to celebrate the coming of Spring, so yes pretties like these will be burned before the month ends.
But people get to enjoy these and the fireworks at midnight (which I did with the class). There were a LOT of peeps tho, and I can't help but notice their streets in Valencia are kinda narrower compared to Barcelona. Also people, most especially children, just casually popping off these firecrackers on the walking streets can be dangerous, so make sure to always look where you're going when here during this time, unless you're planning on stepping on these bad boys. 😅
Left on a bus with the class at around 2AM from Valencia and arrived in Barcelona at 7AM, safe to say all the day's walking had me going out like a light on the way back. 🤣
