it is saturday!
life feels less stressed on a saturday. usually, i spend the day with self pampering or reconnection with friends. i chose the latter, or rather, the latter chose me on this day.
at lunch, i went out with the housemates to grab some lunch at an italian restaurant, how italian it really is i have no way to tell. exiting from the nearest station, we were immediately greeted by quite a familiar scene. harry potter!
i have always been a fan of both the movies and the books. i could still recall those days were i even borrowed books from my friends for the first 6, and from a public library in japan for the last one. the story just brought me to places and my imagination surely ran wild.
the station area was filled with anything harry potter: cafe, souvenir shops, installations, a theater where "the cursed child" is shown. harry potter fans would surely love the place. just head near the tbs exit at the akasaka station. i tried my luck on some gacha and got myself the "dark mark", quite fitting as i'm more likely to be a death eater than be a hero.
enough of the nerdy stuff, we finally reached the resto. de salita, this restaurant proved to be a fine fine place to wine and dine. yes we surely did! sumptuous food were served one after the other, my palate were delighted. but what was more important, was how good the conversation we had was. never a dull moment. six white collar guys who were accustomed to a work in front of a computer now seated in one table enjoying each other's company is a sight! stomach and soul fed and satiated.
and no the day isn't done, three of us headed to shinjuku to meet another group of friends to have coffee (well technically four, but the other one strolled around a mall when we arrived). the planned coffee break has evolved into a full dinner. the planned simple life updates became a full blown life sharing. if this were recorded, it would have been a great podcast session. my take away: the internet had a great impact in our lives which allowed us to be open to different perspectives and new ideologies in my generation, but our parents came from a previous one which did not enjoy this luxury, in fact their generation in the philippines were filled with hardships and censorships. our ideas and those of our parents' tend to clash. but, be the bigger person and understand that you don't have to agree with everything to live a harmonious life with them. sometimes, you just need space to clear up minds, time to heal wounds, and a little more effort to show to them that you have grown and can manage to navigate this thing called life. show them that you may fall and get bruised, but will never give up.

these sort of talks are needed at times. we sometimes get lost in this rapid, fast paced world. you are the captain of your own ship but you certainly don't have to navigate alone.

Pretty great lunch and awesome dinner - life's not so stressful on a Saturday indeed. Good food, great talks.
If only I'm not broke and a bit courageous, I'd definitely be watching the "cursed child" in there.

Seems like the area around Harry Potter is still on Christmas mode with that tree. Now I'm debating if I should go soon or later.
go soon. we will never know that happens next. i am also that poor, haven't seen cursed child to.
if we get rich, let's watch LOL
