We spotted this little one on a walk in southern Colorado, USA. It was about 10" long and we definitely left it alone. It's a testament to me growing up without many dangerous critters around because my first instinct when seeing a snake is to go to pick it up.
Good life advice: don't pick up random snakes, especially while traveling.
