Hemorrhoids, commonly called piles, are a condition where the veins in the lower part of the anus and rectum become inflamed and dilated. This condition is usually painless and appears as bleeding. Complications of hemorrhoids are rare, but can be dangerous if they occur, such as:
- Anemia: Anemia due to prolonged blood loss.
- Closing of blood supply to internal hemorrhoids: can lead to a very painful condition.
Although hemorrhoids themselves are not a serious condition, there are other conditions that can cause such bleeding and pain. It is important to seek medical advice if you experience symptoms of hemorrhoids
