Doggie and I went walking in the woods today. He was pretty excited and pulled me along. I've never met a dog yet that doesn't like walking in the woods.
Ageless and timeless I found two hearts inside a heart shaped nook in a fallen tree:
There was a message on the back but I left the painted rock where I found it. I thought it would be fun for others to find.

My new replacement discs for my lost Sword disc came today. I tried both of them out on the local nine hole in the wind. They were both a bit lightweight for the conditions but it made for a good test.
I'm really happy with the 163 gram Kona Panis signature I-Blend Emperor. It is just the perfect replacement for what I lost and then some. It has definitely made the bag already.
The other disc was about the same weight and a faster speed. It does not leave me with a feeling of confidence. It is very understable and somewhere between a Mamba and a Tern which is not what I would have expected for the fight numbers. It sailed out of bounds when I tried to make a shorter anhyzer drive. It does seem like a disc that would go a really long ways on a good throw and low wind conditions though. It is not exactly what I wanted as a replacement but I will throw it some more before I vote it, "Most likely to burn worms." LOL.
I'm happy to have at least one new replacement for my lost disc just in time for the league play tomorrow.

Haha! Most likely to burn worms!!! Yes. I want one of those. LOL
It has got to be difficult trying to analyze each disc and how it would benefit your entire game. I know that it is dependent on where you play and what conditions, and then you have to remember what each one does. Who said this is not complicated? Maybe challenging? It still sounds like fun and someday, I may give a go at it. It seems to be pretty popular here!
Good luck today!
There is a lot to disc golf and that makes it a fun thing to do for me. There is always some ups and downs and I am often inconsistent. I think as you get more experience that improves from what I have heard.
I loved those painted hearts! They are so fun to find on hikes!
Your heart rock find made for a fun photo.
So... the disc you lost is not available anymore to buy? Just curious if that is the reason you didn't try to get the exact disc. I'm glad at least one that you bought seems to be working out.
A lot of disc manufacturers seem to be having trouble keeping discs in stock. The Westside Sword disc is tough to find right now. I hope they have restocked things by the time I lose my main driver again. :D
You know you have a good eye. I might not have noticed that log does indeed have a heart shape. I think it is a cool thing to find painted stones! My son and I were out walking in the woods and came across one. It was the first I had heard of it. I thought it was so strange at the time, I even made a video about it lol. You can see the stone from the thumbnail :D
It is fun to find them and I think there is a social network of painted rock spotters going. I've not been involved with that but I like finding them.
