That was what I vaguely hear from the ophthalmologist specialist talking to her assistant
For those who didn’t know what happened / have been following with my mom’s condition, it all started when my mom had a severe eye infection that caused 90% of her vision gone on her left eye .
Trust me, we (the whole family) and the church been praying for her, and we have seen the recovery on her eye, just the vision hasn’t been restored yet due to the “scars”
We have been working so hard to get her ready for the cornea transplant; but due to so many conditions including the infections + lack of donated healthy cornea + long list of wait; the transplant has been postponed multiple times. Maybe this in a way, a blessing in disguise and maybe God is slowly strengthening her cornea behind the scenes , only God knows this.
But all I can say right now, is that I know very well that things are finally starting to stabilise for my mom and the specialists are confident to opt for minor procedure to help her vision.
My usual waking up early hospital run, queuing up at the break of dawn at the hospital to get my mom's appointment number
It is by far not the safest procedure because of my mom’s corneal dystrophy disease (diagnosed), where her cornea is exceptionally weaker than others, the doctors are being very careful.
Good thing is that my mom’s recent Dobutamine Stress Echo (DSE) came back with a good report that her heart can endure any underlying procedure / surgical stress, whereby this has created an open door for this option to happen while waiting for a proper cornea transplant.
Maybe God will heal her through this procedure, who knows? Anything can happen.
However, there are risks for post procedure too
The doctors mentioned that she needs to be closely monitored, which means that I might need to take her to the hospital a few rounds just for follow up due to the fact they do not allow her to be admitted, and inflammation could happen and I may need to stay at home more often.
However due to the fact that I am running out of annual leaves to take, I might end up in unpaid leave status, where I will lose around $43 USD a day whereby I will have to find other ways to replenish this loss since I am down to living paycheck-to-paycheck this month onwards because of the rise of mortage interst rates by almost 24% from the day I first paid my mortgage 4 years ago while my wage didn’t go up due to economic recovery.
In fact, having a day job still with this rate of hospital runs is already mercy from God, and I am nothing by grateful for it
But that still doesn’t solve my overflow $150 USD expenses from this month onwards for the next 6 months (excluding if I lose my day wage when I apply for unpaid leave)
But I am not a person who will curl up and cry anymore.
God is still with me, I trust for open doors

Which landed me a curious “go fund me” site where it is outside US friendly. So I have decided to write a fundraising piece last week (before the doctors told me about this procedure) just to see how the site works and will I be able to gather funds.

Of course I am not blindly asking, I am offering to send a thank you gift to anywhere Malaysia can send with the request of the donor who donated a certain amount (I will be adding more later and updating more information there too). The most important is that I wanted to see how easy I can create an approved crowdfunding appeal with legit stories.
That way even if anyone wants to hire me to ghost write a crowdfunding petition / ask me how this site goes I will be able to give proper feedback too.
