My Actifit Report Card: October 29 2023

in Actifit6 months ago

It has been below freezing the last couple of nights. That is less than ideal when you live in an RV. Lay night we made sure we had enough water in our tanks that it would not freeze, but no connections to outside water or sewer. And the lines from the water heater to our faucets froze, as did the pipe from the grey tank to the flush valve. So tonight we're going the opposite direction... Open connections to both water and sewer, with a trickle of warm water running in each faucet. Moving water doesn't freeze unless it gets a lot colder than we will get, so a small stream of water through every pipe and valve should be enough to keep us safe.

We have not done it this way before though, and the sound of running water from every faucet has my anxiety racing. Hopefully this actually works and doesn't flood the bathroom. (If the grey outflow still freezes but the fresh water hose keeps running, the grey water overflows into our bathtub.)

And in other news, I banged my bike tire exactly wrong somehow when lifting it through the door for travel day not long ago, so I need a replacement tube for it. It's an unusual size that small town stores don't stock though. I'll have to find a tube when we get to Wichita next week.
