Here it begins, the most anticipated trip so far this year. A journey that promises, in addition to the usual gastronomic and tourist adventures, a weekend full of meetings, knowledge and devirtualization in the #buzzparty2024. Sharing with some of the Hivers that we do life in Europe and that we have thrown ourselves into the adventure of visiting these great colleagues of the platform, who have been responsible for organizing this impressive meetup in the city of Hamburg and whose call has reached the ear of this servant.
Since I heard about the event, I was very excited about the idea of being able to meet other people who will enjoy Hive as much as I do and who, in addition, have a journey and knowledge within the platform that they want to share with all attendees. I feel that there are many things I still don't know about this world, but I am delighted to go deeper into it and to be able to contribute to the growth and reach of our blockchain.
Aquí comienza, el viaje más esperado de lo que va de año. Un recorrido que promete, además de las usuales aventuras gastronómicas y turísticas, un fin de semana lleno de encuentros, conocimiento y desvirtualización en el #buzzparty2024. Compartiendo con algunos de los Hivers que hacemos vida en Europa y que nos hemos lanzado a la aventura de visitar a estos grandiosos compañeros de la plataforma, que se han encargado de organizar este impresionante meetup en la ciudad de Hamburg y cuyo llamado ha llegado hasta el oído de esta servidora.
Desde que supe del evento, me emocionó mucho la idea de poder conocer a otras personas que disfrutarán tanto como yo de Hive y que, además, tienen un recorrido y conocimiento dentro de la plataforma que desean compartir con todos los asistentes. Yo siento que hay muchísimas cosas que aún desconozco sobre este mundo, pero estoy encantada de adentrarme más en él y poder contribuir con el crecimiento y alcance de nuestra blockchain.

Although in reality the meetup activities start tomorrow, for many of us the journey to the meeting point necessarily began before, in my case I had to combine some personal and work issues, to be able to leave in advance to Hamburg and arrive a day earlier, I did not want to miss any moment of the event so I preferred to fly a day earlier.
Today I left at noon from Zaragoza, the city where I live and which is quite hit by the strong wind these days. In order to fly to Hamburg, I had to arrive first to the city of Barcelona, so I did that first part of the journey by AVE, the Spanish high speed trains that are, in my opinion, a real pleasure. I love being able to enjoy a long distance ride with peace of mind, moving at 300km per hour with such subtlety and arriving to another city almost without giving you time to process it. Too bad you can't see it well in the picture, but we were going 302km per hour exactly, it always impresses me. Contrary to what is said about the German railway system, in Spain it works quite well and I arrived at my destination at the expected time.
Aunque en realidad las actividades del meetup comienzan mañana, para muchos de nosotros el recorrido hasta el punto de encuentro, comenzó necesariamente antes, en mi caso tuve que compaginar algunos asuntos personales y de trabajo, para poder partir con antelación a Hamburg y poder llegar un día antes, no quería perderme ningún momento del evento así que preferí volar un día antes.
Hoy salí a medio día desde Zaragoza, ciudad donde resido y que está bastante azotada por el fuerte viento estos días. Para poder volar hasta Hamburg, tenía que llegar primero a la ciudad de Barcelona, por lo que hice ese primer tramo de recorriendo en AVE, los trenes de alta velocidad españoles que son, en mi opinión, una gozada. Me encanta poder disfrutar de un recorrido de larga distancia con tranquilidad, avanzar a 300km por hora con tanta sutileza y llegar a otra ciudad casi sin darte tiempo a procesarlo. Lastima que no se ve bien en la foto, pero íbamos a 302km por hora exactamente, siempre me impresiona. A diferencia de lo mucho que se dice del sistema ferroviario alemán, en España funciona bastante bien y llegue a mi destino a la hora esperada.
The next thing was to get from the high speed train station to the airport. Barcelona is a city that is very well connected by public transport, so there are metro, bus and suburban trains to the airport.
In addition, when traveling between cities with AVE, the high speed trains of the Spanish company Renfe, the ticket includes a combined commuter train that automatically gives you access to a trip on the Rodalies train system, whose route is direct between Sants station, where I had arrived, to the airport. It takes only half an hour and the free ticket can be used up to 4 hours after arrival at the destination city, it is not even necessary to exchange it, with the Qr code I could access the Rodalies system.
So far so good, but I got the wrong direction when I got on the suburban train and had to change direction at Gracia station, to go back to the airport. That's what I get for being more intent on taking pictures than reading the train directional signs. However, I did not waste much time and arrived early at the Barcelona airport terminal T2 stop, where I took the free shuttle bus that took me to T1, from where my plane was leaving.
Lo siguiente era llegar desde la estación de trenes de alta velocidad hasta el aeropuerto. Barcelona es una ciudad que está muy bien conectada por el transporte público, por lo que hay metro, bus y trenes cercanías hasta el aeropuerto.
Además cuando se viaja entre ciudades con AVE, los trenes de alta velocidad de la compañía Renfe española, el boleto incluye un combinado cercanías que automáticamente te da acceso a un viaje en el sistema de trenes Cercanías o Rodalies, cuyo recorrido es directo entre la estación Sants, donde yo había llegado, hasta el aeropuerto. Tarda tan solo una media hora y el boleto gratuito se puede utilizar hasta 4h después de la llegada a la ciudad destino, ya ni siquiera es necesario canjearlo, con el código Qr pude acceder al sistema Rodalies.
Hasta aquí todo bien, pero me confundí de dirección al subirme al tren de cercanías y tuve que cambiar de dirección en la estación de Gracia, para regresarme hasta el aeropuerto. Eso me pasa por estar más pendiente de tomar fotos que de leer los anuncios con la dirección del tren. Sin embargo, no perdí mucho tiempo y llegué pronto a la parada de la terminal T2 del aeropuerto de Barcelona, donde cogí el bus lanzadera gratuito que me llevó hasta la T1, desde donde partía mi avión.
Once I arrive at the airports I start to calm down, I have a history of missing flights or catching them with very little time due to some oversight. But this was not the case, I arrived an hour and a half before boarding and with the online check-in previously done. I traveled light, with only one backpack despite continuing to travel after the meetup, but I think it is unnecessary to carry suitcases on such short trips, it saves a lot of time.
The security check was fast even though there were a lot of people, but having everything prepared so that the review was as optimal as possible, I got out of that procedure without any setback.
It was fun to see that the gate assigned to my flight was B52, like the musical group, it brought back memories of long ago, which I did not expect to wake up during these days. Memories of pleasant times and a life a little more full of illusion.
Although illusion is what I really have plenty of at this moment before the #buzzparty2024 is not for less!
Shortly before boarding the plane, I decided to break the fast I was carrying with one of my favorite protein bars, they are very good allies in days like these, in which I do not stop moving from one place to another and it does not provoke me to stop to eat anything without enjoying.
The Barebells protein bars are one of the best nutritional values in the market, despite being a processed product that does not replace a meal, I prefer it to those vending machine sandwiches. A product that for occasional occasions comes in handy. Besides, it had the cream and cookie flavor that is my favorite, pure pleasure in a small package.
Una vez que llego a los aeropuertos comienzo a tranquilizarme, tengo un historial de haber perdido vuelos o cogerlos con muy poco tiempo por algún despiste. Pero este no fue el caso, llegué una hora y media antes de abordar y con el checkin online previamente hecho. Viajé ligera, con solo una mochila a pesar de continuar viajando después del meetup, pero creo innecesario eso de llevar maletas en viajes tan cortos, se ahorra mucho tiempo.
El control de seguridad fue rápido a pesar de que había muchísima gente, pero teniendo todo preparado para que la revisión fuese lo más óptima posible, salí de ese procedimiento sin ningún contratiempo.
Fue divertido comprobar que la puerta asignada a mi vuelo era la B52, como el grupo musical, me trajo recuerdos de hace mucho tiempo, que no esperaba despertar durante estos días. Recuerdos de tiempos agradables y una vida un poco más llena de ilusión.
Aunque ilusión es lo que me sobra realmente en este momento previo al #buzzparty2024 no es para menos!
Faltando poco para abordar el avión, decidí romper el ayuno que llevaba con una de mis barritas de proteínas favoritas, son muy buenos aliados en días como estos, en los que no paro de moverme de un lado a otro y no me provoca detenerme a comer cualquier cosa sin disfrutar.
Las barras proteicas de Barebells son de las que mejores valores nutricionales tienen en el mercado, a pesar de ser un producto procesado que no sustituye una comida, lo prefiero antes que esos sándwiches de máquinas expendedoras. Un producto que para ocasiones puntuales viene muy bien. Además, tenía el sabor de crema y galletas que es mi favorito, puro placer en un pequeño empaque.

At 17h it was time to say goodbye to the radiant sunshine of Barcelona. I have to say that despite the windy weather, the temperature remained pleasant, something that made me question for a brief moment, the decision to travel to a place that promises rainy days and lower temperatures, but I remembered that the purpose was much more interesting than the weather conditions and quickly removed that doubt from my head, besides, I was already on the bridge to board, there was not much to do about it but to rely on my faithful coat.
*Vueling was the airline that offered the best schedule to get to Hamburg without having to suffer interminable waits. Also, since I usually travel light, these low-cost carriers are usually a good option for me.
I started to write this post during the flight, as I started I felt the warmth of the sun rays through the window of the plane, it hit me directly and I decided to enjoy it instead of avoiding it, I will miss it for sure these next days.
We have a very talkative captain on the flight, from time to time, he tells us a little about the characteristics of the flight in progress and does not stop making interventions for us to appreciate through the windows the cities and natural formations that we fly over. I don't think I have ever been on board with such a lively pilot. He just said that in 20 minutes we will begin the descent, we expect a storm over the city, a lot of wind and 7C cold hahaha.
The excitement of getting to know a new city and all the fun these next two days promise to be has already started to stir inside me.
Let's start touring Hamburg then!
A las 17h llegó el momento de despedirnos del radiante sol de Barcelona. Tengo que decir que a pesar del viento que estaba haciendo, la temperatura se mantenía agradable, algo que me hizo poner en tela de juicio por un breve instante, la decisión de viajar a un lugar que promete días lluviosos y temperaturas inferiores, pero recordé que la finalidad era mucho más interesante que las condiciones climáticas y elimine esa duda rápidamente de mi cabeza, además, me encontraba ya en el puente para abordar, no había mucho que hacer al respecto más que confiar en mi fiel abrigo.
Vueling era la compañía área que ofrecía mejor horario para llegar a Hamburg sin tener que sufrir interminables esperas. Además que al viajar normalmente ligera, estás compañías de bajo coste suelen ser una buena opción para mi.
Comencé a escribir este post durante el vuelo, al comenzar sentí el calor de los rayos del sol a través de la ventanilla del avión, me daba directamente y decidí disfrutarlo en vez de evitarlo, seguro lo extrañaré estos próximos días.
Tenemos un capitán muy hablador en el vuelo, de rato en rato, nos cuenta un poco sobre las características del vuelo en curso y no Pura de hacer intervenciones para que apreciemos por las ventanillas las ciudades y formaciones naturales que sobrevolamos. Creo que nunca había estado a bordo con un piloto tan animado. Acaba de decir que en 20 minutos comenzaremos el descenso, nos espera una tormenta sobre la ciudad, mucho viento y 7C de frío jajaja.
Ya ha comenzado a agitarse mi interior, la emoción de conocer una nueva ciudad y de todo lo divertido que prometen ser estos próximos dos días.
¡Vamos a comenzar a recorrer Hamburg pues!
It's 8 pm and we are already moving around like locals, looking for a way to get out of the airport and head to the accommodation I have booked in Altona. In the end I decided to stay a bit away from the center because I like to rest easy and the place I'm staying in seems to promise that.
I had looked at the public transport connections from the airport and the truth is that it is unnecessary to try to use private means, there are very good options that get you close to the city center in a short time.
The S1 line of the S-bahn for example, seems wonderful to me, it has a route through the city that I am sure will come in handy on several occasions, and that today will take me almost to the exact point where I need to get to.
Son las 8 de la tarde y ya estamos moviéndonos como los locales, buscando la forma de salir del aeropuerto y dirigirme al alojamiento que he reservado en Altona. Al final decidí estar un poco alejada del centro porque me gusta descansar tranquila y el sitio en el que me quedo parece prometer eso.
Había mirado las conexiones de transporte público desde el aeropuerto y la verdad es que es innecesario intentar utilizar medios privados, hay muy buenas opciones que te acercan al cetro de la ciudad en poco tiempo.
La línea S1 del S-bahn por ejemplo, me parece maravillosa, tiene un recorrido por la ciudad que estoy segura me vendrá bien en varias ocasiones, y que hoy me llevará casi hasta el punto exacto a donde necesito llegar.
It would be uncharacteristic of me to arrive at a place without taking into account its gastronomy, more so on a day of travel like this in which I have not had time to have a proper meal. I had already foreseen this situation, taking note of a very typical fast food place that would allow me to order a delivery with my dinner, because I understand that they eat dinner early in Germany and I did not want to stay without having an approach to the local cuisine for simple questions of schedule.
While I was on my way on the train, I downloaded the Liferando app to see if they could deliver my food to my hotel, but I was out of the delivery zone. So I decided to make a stop in the middle of the way and pick up my order myself.
My choice was a place that all city folk will be very familiar with, I didn't want to stop at one of the many kebab and pizza restaurants I passed by, the idea was to have German food for dinner and I was looking forward to trying what Schweinske had to offer, even if I didn't feel like eating a schnitzel so late in the evening.
Sería algo poco propio de mi, llegar a un sitio sin tener en cuenta su gastronomía, más en un día de viaje como este en el que no he tenido tiempo de tener una comida adecuada. Ya había previsto esta situación, tomando nota de un local de fast food muy típico que me permitiría pedir un delivery con mi cena, porque tengo entendido que se cena pronto en Alemania y no quería quedarme sin tener un acercamiento a la cocina local por simples cuestiones de horario.
Mientras iba de camino en el tren, me descargue la aplicación de Liferando para ver si podían llevarme la comida al hotel, pero estaba fuera de la zona de reparto. Así que decidí hacer una parada en medio del camino y recoger mi pedido yo misma.
Mi elección fue un sitio al que a todos los citadinos les sonará mucho, no quería detenerme en uno de los muchos restaurantes de kebab y pizza por los que pase, la idea era cenar comida alemana y yo tenía muchas ganas de probar lo que Schweinske tenía para ofrecer, aunque no me sintiera con ánimos de comer un schnitzel tan tarde.
I am not going to dwell on details about the food, because I have arrived at my accommodation at 22:30 h and I am soooo hungry hahaha but of course I will talk in detail about it in a next post, directed especially to the food.
I can advance that it has turned out to be a very satisfying choice to satiate my appetite and the flavors have not disappointed me, this does not taste like something I normally eat in Spain. Well, one thing I am obliged to say, I have become an absolute fan of the Schweini, if I had known that I was going to like that sandwich so much I would have ordered two! Hahahaha
I have to say goodbye here, for the first time since Hamburg, looking forward to finish all this food, take a shower and have a good rest so that tomorrow comes soon and we can meet all the Hivers that have come. See you guys soon!
No me voy a detener en detalles sobre la comida, porque he llegado a mi alojamiento a las 22:30 h y tengo muuuuucha hambre jajaja pero por supuesto hablaré con detalle de ello en un próximo post, dirigido especialmente a la comida.
Puedo adelantar que ha resultado una elección muy satisfactoria para saciar mi apetito y los sabores no me han decepcionado, esto no sabe a algo que coma normalmente en España. Bueno, algo si me veo obligada a decir, me he convertido fan absoluta de la Schweini, de haber sabido que ese bocadillo iba a gustarme tanto me hubiese pedido dos! Jajajaja
Tengo que despedirme aquí, por primera vez desde Hamburg, con muchas ganas de terminarme toda esta comida, ducharme y descansar bien para que mañana llegue pronto y podamos reunirnos todos los Hivers que hemos venido. Nos vemos pronto chicos!!
