It was a lovely day, sunny, warm in the sun, but with a chilly breeze. We went for a long walk around the bay, through the nature reserve (after a sit down to admire the sea), before a cup of tea at The Salty Seal.
We met about eight in the morning, the light perfect, dazzling as it shimmered off the sea. Lots of birds, some ducks and a very fat pigeon.
The Salty Seal was busy, dog walkers and dogs, families with tiny children in bucket hats, tweens and teenagers with mums and dads and grannies. Cash or card, depending on reception.
I scrambled up a steep path to the road and halfway there my companion stopped and turned to me to tell me the end of story while I teetered on a wobbly rock.
The beach was pretty clear. Often the tide brings in plastic and other debris. Up by the road is a plastic pick up station with bags and gloves - anyone can pick some litter.
We talked about a Japanese process for preserving wood by burning. My companion is experimenting in her workshop. Tomorrow I should get a look.
The sunset later this evening. I must remember to wear sunscreen tomorrow.

I'm okay, and so pleased to get away for a few days.
The garden is looking a bit bedraggled, waiting for some warmer weather. My little seedings are doing well, though.
