During our walk in Endingen am Kaiserstuhl I noticed something interesting.
Trees that still carry no leaves.
Branches bare. Still waiting for spring.
And yet they appear green.
Not because of new leaves.
But because of ivy.
Climbing slowly along the trunks, wrapping itself upward.
A quiet partnership.
One plant reaching for light by using another.
The tree stands tall. The ivy climbs.
Two different rhythms sharing the same space.
From a distance it almost looks as if the trees themselves are already green again.
But it is not their season yet.
Nature often works in layers.
One life resting. Another continuing.
The forest rarely waits all at once.
Some parts pause. Others move forward.
Walking through places like this reminds me how many small details are easy to overlook.
Until you stop for a moment and look again.
Observed while moving. Left unfinished.

Oops, maybe I should change my texts, at least the last sentence, in future. It's just a snapshot taken during our hike. I was struck by the trees covered in ivy. Almost every tree had some. And that was an unusual sight.
