We headed off on the the trails around Thumb Butte for a long hike under sunny skies.
We hit the road early this morning for a slow couple of miles before breakfast and our later hike. At least Lulu wasn't pausing every few minutes to smell all the shrubs and happily trotting out ahead of me.
We finished our walk in around a half hour which was pretty decent for us.
There were plenty of people at the Thumb Butte parking lot but most of them must have been hiking the trails around the Butte as we didn't meet anyone else on the trails away from the Butte.
The trails are well posted with signs and I've hiked them several times so it was easy to just hike and enjoy the scenery.
It was nice that the day wasn't hot so that we didn't get too thirsty and I had plenty of water to keep Lulu happy.
4 miles or so when we arrived back at the parking lot and finished our hike for today.
Hopefully the rain 🌧 will hold off for a few days.
