My Actifit Report Card: April 6 2024

in Actifit29 days ago

Overnight rain showers left us with a light coating of snow to greet us when we woke.

Despite the snow the sun was bright and the roads clear so the snow cover would quickly melt away around here.
We quickly completed our morning walk and after breakfast we headed on over to Lynx Creek for a long hike along the upper creek.

After a half mile descent down to the creek the trail generally disappeared and we had to criss-cross the creek as we made our way up into the deep and narrow Lynx Creek ravine.

The snow had mostly melted away with just a few small patches in shaded areas (although the higher hills still were covered with snow). Thus the creek was running cold and clear with plenty of water cascading over the rocky outcrops that lined the narrowing ravine.

After we had hiked a bit over 3 miles it was tome to head back up to the main road for the return trip back to our car. By this time the creek was surrounded by steep banks that made further hiking along the creek more difficult (especially since there was no clear trail to follow).

It was a slow slog up a steep hillside through thick brush that was a tough task for me while Lulu had a much easier time and was patiently waiting for me at the top.
From there it was an easy mile back down to our starting and a really good effort for both of us.

What a beautiful place to get your healthy @actifit steps my friend!!😄
Just a little bit of snow that melted away sounds like a very nice day for a hike!!😄

This area usually gets a lot more snow as it's about 800 feet higher but not much left. It's rugged country but great for hiking.

Thanks again for sharing my friend!!!
Definitely my kind of country !👍😊
