We hiked deep into the ravine on upper Lynx Creek to do some exploring and check out a few prospecting spots to try later.
The utility company was still doing work on our roads so we again had to divert around the area for our morning walk. It wasn't too bad although we had to navigate some narrow dirt paths behind the neighborhood houses to get to the large field where we looped around a few times before heading back.
The weather today was much better and a bright sun had replaced the overcast sky we had yesterday.
The initial section of our hike to the creek was on a well-maintained dort roadbut after about half a mile we headed onto a little path that dropped down the steep hillside to bring us down to Lynx Creek which flowed several hundred feet below.
Once we had reached the creek after the steep descent it was a rugged hike along the rocky edge of Lynx Creek as the rocky hillsides formed a relatively narrow space for us and there were no defined trails along this area and the wider spots were often filled with the rocky debris for the long ago gold dredging.
I dug around in a few spots and gleaned a few bits of gold after an hour or so of work and then it was the tough climb back up and out of the creek to finish up over 3 miles of tough work. We both enjoyed the scenery even with the hard work and will be back soon.
