One of the herbal plants I wanted to be able to grow in our garden was the spice - savory. My family likes spice very much and that is why she is often present at our table.
I planted the herb in the garden beds around the aubergines and peppers.
During and after flowering, I collected the aboveground part of the plant and dried it in the shade in a dry and ventilated place.
After it dried, I grind by hand and put it in glass jars - ready to eat as a spice and as an herb.
In Bulgarian folk medicine savory is used for headaches, dizziness, palpitations, high blood pressure, vomiting and others.
The herb stimulates the activity of the stomach and intestines and is used in gastrointestinal diseases as a painkiller.
It has an expectorant effect, which is why a decoction of it is recommended for acute cough.

Trying to get this one from seeds. First year was a fail.
For me, too, was unsuccessful, growing from seed @manoldonchev. Fortunately, my neighbor gave me seedlings and so I was able to grow savory.
I guess I'll keep on trying. Seeds are not that hard to spread. Improving the conditions is another thing. I need to learn that...step by step.
And I - will keep on trying growing from seed 🙂👍
it's very hard to create the perfect mountain conditions for germination... within a home garden
(that's why we cultivated most of the herbs for any conditions)
try to grab a root (or part of it) from the mountain, but not too much because it's forbidden to disrupt the eco~balance! ;)
